From a young age, I participated in various sports, but my consistent focus was on soccer and tennis. Dealing with an ankle injury during high school made me understand the frustration and patience required during the recovery process. Upon starting college at St. Edward's University, where I played tennis at the Division II level, I was able to receive the necessary support, which included surgery, to start my rehabilitation journey. Throughout my athletic career from 2014-2018, I spent a lot of time with the athletic trainers and realized that I wanted to assist fellow athletes going through similar situations. As a result, I decided to pursue physical therapy as a career, recognizing the value of preventive measures and proper return-to-sport strategies to ensure the longevity of an athletic career.
I've observed that there is a knowledge gap in the sports community regarding the fundamental principles of being an athlete. I am a firm believer that with the proper education, athletes can successfully navigate their careers and achieve longevity in their field while maintaining good health. My own experiences as an athlete have motivated me to share my insights and lessons learned with others, in hopes of helping them realize their full potential.
